Behind the Christian Counselors Conference is a team of practicing clinicians who volunteer their time each year in planning and execution. Dr. Timothy Sumerlin was one of the original members of this planning team. Though he was busy with his own grief counseling practice and speaking engagements, he saw the benefit of providing a space for mental health practitioners to meet and network with each other. When the pandemic eliminated most in-person events, Tim was one of the biggest champions of making sure the conference still happened, cheering on those involved in the planning as they navigated the task of moving online.
